Smart Growth Endorsement Criteria – Check it Out
MSGC has developed two smart growth endorsement processes and criteria that enable us to support truly smart growth developments proposed in Montana. These criteria, one for urban and suburban developments and one for rural developments, are best applied before a development has gone through extensive engineering and design expense so that we can help the developer design the development to ensure it meets these criteria.
If you are interested in seeking endorsement please download these criteria, apply them to your development, and then contact MSGC. Or if you are a citizen or a local government official and you are trying to decide whether a development is smart or not then feel free to use these criteria to help you rate the development.

Montana Smart Growth Coalition's Urban and Suburban Neighborhood Development Endorsement Criteria
The Montana Smart Growth Coalition has created a quantitative checklist of criteria to determine if a development project is truly smart growth and deserves MSGC's support during permitting and marketing. A developer may use an MSGC endorsement for marketing purposes after the development is half built out. View the checklist
